RPC 2026 Special Issue
Following the tradition of previous RPC conferences, the proceedings of the XVIII International Conference on Resistive Plate Chambers and Related Detectors (RPC 2026) will be published in a dedicated special issue of Elsevier's journal Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research, Section A (NIM-A).
Authors of oral and poster contributions presented at RPC 2026 are invited to submit original scientific manuscripts for consideration in this special issue.
All submitted manuscripts will undergo the journal's peer-review process. Acceptance for presentation at the conference does not guarantee acceptance for publication.
Important Dates
Submission system opens (scheduled): October 20, 2026
Manuscript submission deadline: December 30, 2026
Authors are encouraged to prepare their manuscripts in advance and submit them well before the deadline. Any changes to these dates will be communicated through the conference website.
Manuscript Submission
Manuscripts must be submitted electronically through the dedicated NIM-A proceedings submission platform:
Editorial Manager – NIM-A Proceedings
The submission system is scheduled to open on October 20, 2026. The platform is currently under development and is not yet available for manuscript submission.

When prompted to select the article type, choose "VSI: RPC 2026 Conference" from the available options. This selection is essential to identify your manuscript as a contribution to the RPC 2026 special issue.
-
Enter the manuscript information, including the title, abstract, keywords, author details and affiliations.
-
Upload the manuscript and all other required files, following the instructions displayed by Editorial Manager.
-
Review the generated submission PDF and verify that all information, figures, tables and references are displayed correctly before completing your submission.
Important: Please ensure that you select the correct article type, "VSI: RPC 2026 Conference". If this option is not available after the submission system opens, please contact the Guest Editors' team before proceeding.
Manuscript Preparation and Formatting
All manuscripts must comply with the journal's official Guide for Authors .
Authors should consult these guidelines carefully for the journal's requirements concerning manuscript structure, scientific content, figures, tables, references, declarations and other submission materials.
Manuscripts may be prepared using LaTeX or Microsoft Word, in accordance with the journal's instructions.
LaTeX Template
To facilitate manuscript preparation, the RPC 2026 Organizing Committee provides a generic LaTeX template based on Elsevier's elsarticle document class.
Download the RPC 2026 LaTeX Template (ZIP)
The template includes a manuscript skeleton with illustrative examples of the title and author information, abstract, keywords, sections, figures, equations, tables and references.
All example content must be replaced with the authors' own scientific material before submission. The template is provided as a starting point and does not supersede the journal's official requirements.
Authors may also consult Elsevier's official LaTeX instructions .
Manuscript Length and Page Limits
The following maximum manuscript lengths are proposed for contributions submitted to the RPC 2026 special issue, subject to confirmation by the Guest Editors:
|
Contribution type |
Maximum length |
|---|---|
|
Poster presentations |
4 pages |
|
Contributed oral presentations |
5 pages |
|
Plenary / invited presentations |
6 pages |
What is included in the page count?
The page limits apply to the complete manuscript, including the title, author names and affiliations, abstract, keywords, main text, equations, figures, tables, captions, acknowledgements and references.
In other words, the page count starts with the title page and ends with the final page of the reference list. Figures, tables and the bibliography are not excluded from the page limit.
Authors preparing their manuscripts in LaTeX should check the total number of pages in the compiled PDF using the provided template. The page limits refer to the complete manuscript, not only to the main text.
Please ensure that your manuscript complies with the applicable page limit before submission.
Figures, References and Source Files
Please ensure that all figures and tables are clearly labelled, appropriately cited in the manuscript and accompanied by informative captions. Authors are responsible for obtaining any permissions required to reproduce material from previously published works.
References should be accurate and complete, with all cited works included in the reference list.
For LaTeX submissions, Elsevier provides specific instructions concerning the preparation and upload of source files. In particular, files intended for processing by Editorial Manager should be placed at the same directory level, without subfolders.
Authors should retain their complete manuscript source files and follow the submission system's instructions regarding the appropriate file types and upload categories.
Any additional requirements specific to the RPC 2026 special issue will be communicated by the Guest Editors' team.
Peer Review and Publication
All submitted manuscripts will be evaluated according to the editorial standards and peer-review procedures of NIM-A.
The Guest Editors' team will coordinate the editorial process for the RPC 2026 special issue in accordance with the journal's policies.
Manuscripts may be subject to revision following peer review. Final acceptance will depend on the scientific quality of the contribution, the outcome of the review process and compliance with the journal's editorial requirements.
Submission to the special issue does not guarantee publication.
