During General Topics presentations, a presentation timer will be shown on a screen facing the speaker and another screen facing the chairpersons.
Each speaker is allotted 14 minutes, including the introduction by the chair, the presentation, and the Q&A. As a general guideline, presenters are encouraged to use approximately 10–12 minutes for the presentation itself and to leave approximately 2–4 minutes for Q&A discussion. However, the balance between presentation time and discussion time may be adjusted as appropriate within the allotted 14 minutes.
The timer will start counting down at the scheduled starting time of the presenter's session.
For the first 10 minutes, the progress bar shows in green.
At 10 minutes (4 minutes left), the bell rings once, and the progress bar changes to yellow. We encourage presenters to end their presentation while the progress bar is yellow (i.e. with 2–4 minutes left).
At 12 minutes (2 minutes left), the bell rings twice, and the progress bar changes to orange.
At 14 minutes (0 minutes left), the bell rings three times, and the progress bar changes to red, indicating the end of the presentation/Q&A. At this point, the chairpersons are requested to immediately end the presenter's session, to ensure that the next presentation starts at the scheduled time.
