Description
Building on the symposium presentations and the findings of the AJMC survey, this panel discussion will examine what knowledge, skills, and competencies should form the core of English for Medical Purposes (EMP) education in Japanese medical schools. Drawing on perspectives from medical education, language education, and international practice, the panel will explore the extent to which common learning outcomes may be desirable at a national level while maintaining flexibility to address local needs and institutional contexts. Audience participation will be encouraged.
