Description

To meet the Circular Electron-Positron Collider (CEPC) Detector’s demand for low-material-budget and high-reliability data transmission, this study proposes a 60 GHz millimeter-wave (mm-wave) transmission system. The core transceiver chips were verified radiation-tolerant: they maintained stable communication under 7 Mrad X-ray irradiation (5.5 h) and 1.2×1012 neq/cm² neutron irradiation (21 h), satisfying CEPC’s harsh radiation requirements. Optimized with low-noise amplifiers and patch antennas (replacing horn antennas), the system achieved a maximum transmission rate of 6.25 Gbps at 67.5 cm, with negligible crosstalk with the Taichu3 Vertex Pixel prototype chip. A multi-channel system integrated via flexible PCBs realized error-free transmission (BER < 1e-14) at up to 18.75 Gbps over 30 cm, offering a scalable, low-cable solution for CEPC and other high-energy physics experiments.
