Description
For the proposed Circular Electron Positron Collider (CEPC) research and development program, the Outer Tracker (OTK) plans to utilize AC-coupled Low-Gain Avalanche Detector (AC-LGAD) microstrip sensors to achieve high-precision spatial measurements (10 µm) and timing measurements (50 ps). The initial prototype of the strip LGAD readout ASIC, named LATRIC0, is a single-channel design that includes a front-end amplifier and has been fabricated using 55-nm CMOS technology. Measurement results indicate that the prototype achieves bin sizes of approximately 30 ps, a time precision of less than 1 Least Significant Bit (LSB), and a power consumption of less than 6.3 mW per channel at a 1-MHz event rate, thereby preliminarily meeting the detector requirements. The second iteration, LATRIC8, features eight channels with a pitch of 100 μm and incorporates optimization to the TDC core to address issues identified during LATRIC0 testing. Testing for LATRIC8 is expected to begin in early March. This report will focus on precision measurements, analysis, and optimization of LATRIC0, as well as preliminary tests on LATRIC8. The analysis, design optimizations, and measurement results will be presented.
