The goal of this meeting is to bring together cosmologists to discuss the current state of cosmology at the interface of theory and observations.
The main topics include:
- Inflation and the early Universe,
- Cosmic microwave background,
- Large-scale structures of the Universe,
- Dark matter and neutrino astrophysics,
- Dark energy and modified gravity,
- Gravitational waves and multi-messenger astronomy.
We expect this event to provide a platform for maximizing interactions and creating new collaborations.

Compact objects in the Generalized SU(2) Proca Theory
We present compact object solutions in the Generalized SU(2) Proca theory (GSU2P), including boson stars, neutron stars, and black holes. This modified gravity model is a vector-tensor theory, invariant under global SU(2) transformations, and incorporates second-order derivative self-interactions of the vector field, extending beyond the massive Yang-Mills theory. Initially, we investigated two Lagrangian components consisting of four gauge fields minimally coupled to the metric tensor. These components yield an exact Reissner-Nordström black hole solution with two distinct non-Abelian effective charges that depend on the theory’s free parameters. We also found soliton solutions, generalizing the particle-like solutions of the Einstein-Yang-Mills equations, which can be interpreted as gauge Proca boson stars. Within certain parameter ranges, these solutions exhibit potential stability. Additionally, we found neutron star solutions, where the baryonic matter is modeled using a piecewise polytropic equation of state. In general, these solutions are more compact compared to those in General Relativity. Specifically, for the same equation of state and central baryonic density, the GSU2P solutions are more massive than those in General Relativity, reaching the mass gap. These results constraint the range of the free parameters of the theory.

Propagación de Ondas Gravitacionales en la Teoría Generalizada de Proca SU(2)
De la Teoría General de la Relatividad de Einstein es sabido que las ondas gravitacionales admiten dos grados de polarización. De otro lado, las teorías de la gravedad que van más allá de Einstein pueden cambiar las propiedades de las ondas gravitacionales, e.g., una rapidez de propagación no lumínica, la existencia de dispersión o la existencia de modos de polarización extra. La detección directa de ondas gravitacionales es un proceso de alta precisión debido a la pequeñez del efecto que producen. En el caso de los detectores de ondas gravitacionales, el análisis de datos se realiza con plantillas que dependen de la tasa de cambio de la fase y la amplitud de las ondas gravitacionales. Estas plantillas dependen de la teoría específica de la gravedad. Por lo tanto, la elección de una teoría de la gravedad particular puede afectar el cómo se interpretan los resultados de dichas mediciones. En este trabajo se propone analizar la propagación de las ondas gravitacionales en la teoría Generalizada de Proca SU(2). Se pretende examinar los modos de polarización, las velocidades de propagación y la posible existencia de birefrigencia de las ondas gravitacionales. Lo anterior se realizará mediante el formalismo de la óptica geométrica y el formalismo de Newman-Penrose. Para ello, se tomarán en cuenta varios tipos de fondos: Un primer fondo cosmológico homogéneo e isótropo de Friedmann–Lemaître–Robertson-Walker (FLRW), junto con fondo vectorial denominado "triada cósmica"; un fondo vectorial tipo tiempo. Por último, un fondo astrofísico, donde la métrica de fondo es estacionaria, con simetría esférica, y el fondo vectorial corresponde al monopolo de t´Hooft-Polyakov. Todo lo anterior con el ánimo de determinar la viabilidad de la teoría Generalizada de Proca SU(2) para describir la interacción gravitacional a través de la perspectiva de la propagación de ondas gravitacionales.

On the curvature, torsion, and non metricity in the thermodynamical selection of the gravitational theory
This project has as its general objective the extension of the classical formulation of gravity, considering it not only as a geometric theory but as a consequence of the laws of thermodynamics applied to accelerated observers. The general case involving curvature, torsion, and non-metricity was addressed and allowed us to generalize the famous T. Jacobson's result in which he identifies the gravitational interaction as a consequence of thermodynamics on pseudo-Riemannian manifolds. Our results lead us to conclude that, in an arbitrary number of dimensions, the non metricity does not contribute to the gravitational field equations but the curvature and torsion do, i. e., that, in a gauge formulation of gravity, transformations belonging to ISO_o(3,1) are the ones to be localized. This result indicates that Einstein-Cartan is the description of the gravitational interaction selected by T. Jacobson's thermodynamical formulation.

La relación de la medida de dispersión - redshift de FRBs con galaxia hospedera confirmada
En este trabajo teórico, investigamos diferentes modelos para predecir el redshift (z) de las ráfagas rápidas de radio (FRB; Fast Radio Bursts en inglés) de su medida de dispersión (DM; dispersion measure) observada y otras propiedades reportadas. Realizamos una revisión exhaustiva de la literatura de los FRBs con galaxia hospedera confirmada y construimos el catálogo más actualizado a la fecha. Con una muestra de 24 FRBs únicos, proponemos 4 modelos que relacionan DM y z: una tendencia lineal (inspirada en la relación de Macquart), una función log-parabólica, una relación tipo ley de potencias, y una interpolación para DM que incluye el redshift y la posición de la galaxia hospedera en el cielo. El último model tiene una tasa de éxito del 70% al predecir el redshift del FRB, seguido de cerca por el modelo de ley de potencias y el lineal. Sin embargo, nuestro modelo log-parabólico tiene un rendimiento muy pobre en las predicciones pero hace un buen trabajo para bajo DM y bajo z. También consideramos un modelo estadístico que ajusta los datos observados, y comparamos su rendimiento con los modelos físicamente motivados. Adicionalmente, usamos las propiedades reportadas de la galaxia hospedera para establecer una conexión entre el DM observado y la tasa de formación estelar y masa estelar de las galaxias donde residen los FRB. En ambos casos encontramos una correlación débil. Este resultado puede ser el resultado de una muestra que no es estadísticamente significativa, que esperamos complementar con nuevas confirmaciones de FRBs con galaxias hospederas.

Updated exploration of a Sigmoid Late-Physics model for Dark Energy with DES
With recent results coming from the last releases of DES, pointing to a reduction in the significance of the Hubble tension, the focus is now shifting to study the shape of the dark energy (DE) equation of state (EOS). The Hubble tension is the discrepancy between the values of (H_0) determined from the magnitude-redshift relation and those derived from the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB). In this work, we analyze Type Ia supernovae (SNe) data to constrain the dark energy EOS, given by (w = P/\rho). Previous studies on dynamic DE models (Torres, 2024) suggest that while DE alone cannot completely resolve the tension, it remains a viable candidate and may contribute to its alleviation. In addition to the role of DE dynamic models in helping solve the tension, these models can shade light on the processes causing the acceleration, specifically it is of interest to show whether the deviations of the EOS (from constant $w = -1$) are smooth, or if they exhibit a rapid change at a specific redshift (such as expected from a phase transition of an underlying scalar field). We propose a physics-agnostic approach to constrain DE using both supernovae and CMB data, taking into account the updated light curves of SN Ia according to the most recent observations. Our approach involves fixing pre-recombination physics, firmly established based on CMB observations (where CMB results jointly constrain the six parameters defining the $\Lambda$CDM cosmology), and examination of SNe data for late-time effects that could alleviate the tension. In order to achieve this, we introduce a simple parametrization of the EOS, employing a sigmoid function that explicitly encodes a transition redshift (Torres et al., 2024) where (w) transitions from -1 (consistent with CMB observations) to its present value, (w_0) (a model parameter). This parametrization enables DE to influence late-time expansion without disturbing early CMB physics. The dataset utilized in our analysis comprises Type Ia supernovae sourced from DES, focused on selecting SNe within the Hubble flow sector ((z > 0.15)), where late-time physics effects would take place. Driven by the approach of fixing pre-recombination physics, we incorporate cosmological probes (CMB) not by merging the data, but rather as constraints. We present fits of cosmological parameters to the data, conduct analysis of parameter degeneracy, and incorporation of CMB constraints. The collective findings serve as a valuable resource for formulating theoretical models pertaining to the EOS, that might be applicable to other observational sources.

Searching for Ultra-Light Axion-Like Particles Using Pulsars Polarimetry Measurements from PPTA and QUIJOTE
A dark matter medium composed of ultra-light axion-like particles (ALPs) with electromagnetic couplings can induce a birefringence effect in the polarization of photons emitted by pulsars. We have developed a robust and comprehensive method to search for such birefringence effects using polarimettry measurements from the Parkes Pulsar Timing Array (PPTA) and the QUIJOTE experiment targeting the Crab Nebula. Moreover, we analyze the stochastic nature of the axion's wavelike behavior within the coherence patches, which depends on the distances between the pulsars and Earth. Our analysis imposes stringent constraints on the axion mass and its coupling constant, particularly in the range $10^{-23} \text{ eV} < m_{a} < 10^{-21} \text{ eV}$. Finally, we outline future prospects for studying pulsars located in high dark matter density regions and propose opportunities for further pulsar polarimetry measurements by other dedicated collaborations.

Cosmología Dinámica con dos campos escalares
Se explora un modelo de energía oscura dinámica de multicampos que incluye dos campos escalares $\phi^a$ y $\phi^b$, los cuales están mínimamente acoplados a la gravedad. En este modelo, las trayectorias en el espacio de campos no son geodésicas, sino trayectorias giratorias. Los campos tienen componentes radiales y angulares, pero debido a la imposición de una simetría de desplazamiento en $\theta$, las métricas del espacio de campos dependen únicamente de $r$.
Se consideran dos métricas para el espacio de campos. La primera es una métrica de ley de potencias, $f(r) = r^p$, donde $p$ es un parámetro que puede ser positivo o negativo. Dependiendo de su valor, la curvatura será plana, positiva o negativa. La segunda métrica es hiperbólica, con curvatura negativa, dada por $f(r) = e^{\beta r}$, donde $\beta$ indica que el espacio de campos está curvado negativamente para todos los valores no nulos de $\beta$. En particular, $\beta = 0$ corresponde a un espacio-campo plano. En este contexto, se incluye una densidad de energía $\rho$ y radiación. El potencial utilizado, $V(r, \theta)$, es un potencial mínimo en un marco de teoría de campo efectivo que permite las soluciones giratorias deseadas. Estas soluciones consisten en un término de masa (tras desplazar $r$) y un término que rompe suavemente la simetría de desplazamiento en $\theta$.
A través del análisis dinámico del espacio de fases de las ecuaciones cosmológicas de movimiento a nivel de fondo, se ha demostrado que estos modelos de energía oscura de multicampos no solo proporcionan una dinámica cosmológica viable desde el punto de vista observacional, sino que también son teóricamente atractivos. Las soluciones obtenidas satisfacen una serie de conjeturas basadas en la gravedad cuántica, dentro de teorías de campo efectivo de baja energía que describen el comportamiento del universo en los tiempos recientes.

VSL-Gravity in ligth of PSR B1913+16 Full Data Set: Upper limits on graviton mass and its theoretical consequences
Very Special Linear Gravity (VSL-Gravity) is an alternative model of linearized gravity that incorporates massive gravitons while retaining two physical degrees of freedom due to gauge invariance. Recently, the model's gravitational period decay dynamics have been calculated using effective field theory techniques. In this study, we conduct a comprehensive Bayesian analysis of the PSR B1913+16 binary pulsar dataset to test the predictions of VSL-Gravity. Our results place a 95\% confidence level (CL) upper bound on the graviton mass at $m_g < 10^{-19} \, \text{eV}$. Additionally, we observe a significant discrepancy in the predicted mass of one of the binary's companion stars. Lastly, we discuss the broader implications of a non-zero graviton mass, from astrophysical consequences to potential cosmological effects.

Introducing the Cosmology Group at Universidad del Valle: Current Research and Future Perspectives
In this talk, we will introduce the Cosmology Group at Universidad del Valle (UniValle), a hub for innovative research in theoretical cosmology. We will provide an overview of our current projects, which span topics such as modified gravity, dark energy, and the large-scale structure of the cosmos.
We are also actively involved in the development and application of advanced computational tools, including machine learning techniques, to tackle complex cosmological problems. We will highlight key achievements, ongoing collaborations, and the unique research environment we foster at UniValle.
Additionally, we will discuss our vision for the future, including upcoming projects and potential areas of expansion. By sharing our work and aspirations, we hope to engage with the broader cosmology community in Colombia, fostering collaborations that will not only advance our understanding of the universe but also position Colombian cosmology as a significant contributor on the global stage.

Isotropic expansion and the balance between anisotropic curvature and stresses
In the context of the Bianchi universes, i.e., homogeneous but anisotropic cosmologies, we study the conditions to obtain vanishing shear which indeed satisfies the cosmological principle. The anisotropic curvature has to be balanced by the anisotropic stresses of the non-perfect fluid that dominates the energy density of the universe. Such a fluid has been considered to describe a n-form with or without potential. The scenario is successfully realized only for the free 0-form and 2-form cases which are equivalent via Hodge duality.

Impacts of Spatial Curvature on Exponential Quintessence Cosmology
A quintessence cosmological model with an exponential potential $V(\phi) = V_0 e^{-\lambda \phi}$ is explored to explain the accelerated expansion of the universe. This model introduces a scalar field $\phi$, whose dynamics are governed by the parameter $\lambda$, which is linked to the evolution rate of dark energy. One of the key aspects of this study is the inclusion of spatial curvature, which has significant implications for cosmological predictions. In particular, the presence of curvature allows for an extended range of acceptable values for $\lambda$, a parameter constrained by cosmological observations. While in a flat universe $\lambda$ is limited to values below $\sqrt{2}$, the inclusion of curvature relaxes this bound, allowing for higher values such as $\lambda \approx 2.236$, opening new possibilities for the model's compatibility with observational data.
Another interesting result is the emergence of a new attractor point in the dynamical systems analysis when curvature is considered. This point drives the universe's trajectories toward an accelerated expansion phase, modifying the long-term behavior of the universe compared to the flat model. Furthermore, the analysis shows that curvature affects the evolution of the scalar field's equation of state parameter, $w_\phi$, which tends to more negative values in the presence of curvature, a feature that is observationally favorable.
These results provide deeper insights into how spatial curvature influences the dynamics of dark energy, suggesting that models with curvature could offer a better fit to recent observational data.This presentation is based on the paper entitled “Exponential Quintessence:

Explorando Restricciones Perturbativas en Teorías de Cuarto Orden de Gravedad Modificada
En el ámbito de la Relatividad General y las teorías extendidas de la gravedad, obtener soluciones para escenarios de interés físico representa un desafío altamente complejo. Mediante el uso del formalismo de la teoría de perturbaciones matemáticas en el marco de la Relatividad General, demostramos que, para una clase significativa de teorías de vacío $f(R, R_{\mu\nu}R^{\mu\nu})$, las soluciones correspondientes no generan efectos adicionales más allá de los predichos por la teoría de perturbaciones de la Relatividad General. Sin embargo, los modelos caracterizados por términos de la forma $f(R, R_{\mu\nu}R^{\mu\nu}, R_{\mu\nu\sigma\delta}R^{\mu\nu\sigma\delta})$ exhiben contribuciones distintivas que no están presentes en la Relatividad General.
Afirmamos que existen limitaciones fundamentales que explican por qué las soluciones de ciertos modelos $f(R, R_{\mu\nu}R^{\mu\nu})$ pueden desviarse de sus contrapartes en la Relatividad General, indicando soluciones no conectadas o un comportamiento no analítico. Por el contrario, en los modelos $f(R, R_{\mu\nu}R^{\mu\nu}, R_{\mu\nu\sigma\delta}R^{\mu\nu\sigma\delta})$, las soluciones se conectan de manera continua con las de la Relatividad General. Esta distinción resalta la interacción matizada entre términos de curvatura de orden superior y su impacto en la dinámica gravitacional, ofreciendo nuevas perspectivas sobre el panorama de las teorías modificadas de la gravedad.

Galaxy assembly in the cosmic web: a multi-scale tidal analysis
One of the most striking features of the large-scale universe is the observed web-like pattern in the distribution of galaxies, forming clusters, filaments, and voids. This cosmic structure, known as the Cosmic Web, plays a crucial role in galaxy formation and evolution. To investigate this relationship, we employ the NEXUS_tidal algorithm to analyse the matter distribution from IllustrisTNG simulations. NEXUS is a multi-scale approach that identifies cosmic environments based on tidal fields, providing a detailed classification of these complex structures. By focusing on central galaxies with early and late assembly histories and their associated dark matter halos, we aim to explore correlations between galaxy assembly and their position within the cosmic web.

Simulation-driven clustering analysis with an eye on future J-PAS data and large galaxy surveys
In the era of precision cosmology, large-scale structure analyses are essential for understanding the fundamental components that describe the distribution of galaxies. The J-PAS (Javalambre Physics of the Accelerating Universe Astrophysical Survey) is a promising galaxy survey designed to precisely measure photometric redshifts for galaxies up to z~1. Its redshift accuracy will not only allow for the identification of individual galaxies but also enable the mapping of large-scale cosmic structures. These accurate measurements of galaxy clustering will facilitate detailed comparisons with theoretical predictions and enable precise measurements of Baryon Acoustic Oscillations (BAOs). This, in turn, will allow for a more accurate description of the redshift power spectrum, which is crucial for constraining cosmological parameters like the growth factor and the background cosmology, both of which are fundamental for testing theories of gravity. Mock catalogues are indispensable in galaxy surveys as they provide realistic models of the universe, helping to interpret observational data, test methodologies, and evaluate uncertainties. Cosmological analysis of the large-scale structure demands exploiting the nonlinear information encoded in the cosmic web. Machine Learning techniques provide such tools, however, do not provide a priori assessment of uncertainties. This study aims at extracting cosmological parameters from modified gravity simulations through deep neural networks endowed with uncertainty estimations. We implement Bayesian neural networks (BNNs) with an enriched approximate posterior distribution considering two cases: one with a single Bayesian last layer, and another one with Bayesian layers at all levels. We train both BNNs with density fields and power-spectra from a suite of 2000 N-body simulations including modified gravity models. BNNs excel in accurately predicting parameters for Ωm and σ8 and their respective correlation with the MG parameter. We find out that BNNs yield well-calibrated uncertainty estimates overcoming the over- and under-estimation issues in traditional neural networks. We observe that the presence of MG parameter leads to a significant degeneracy with σ8 being one of the possible explanations of the poor MG predictions. Ignoring MG, we obtain a deviation of the relative errors in Ωm and σ8 by at least 30%.

Velocidades Peculiares en Cosmología
En las últimas cinco décadas, la teoría de perturbaciones cosmológicas ha tenido un progreso significativo, producto de los avances tecnológicos en las observaciones y el esfuerzo de diversos grupos de investigación que han optimizado sus modelos teóricos y computacionales para describir, de forma aproximada, cómo ha evolucionado el campo de densidad, dando lugar a las estructuras significativas que observamos en el universo hoy en día. En este sentido, este trabajo busca presentar un aspecto fundamental y actual en la descripción de la formación de estructura, que consiste en conectar el campo de densidad con el campo de velocidades peculiares y cómo éste último, puede ser empleado para trazar del campo de materia, del universo local, y por lo tanto, representar la evolución de las inhomogeneidades en un universo en expansión bajo el modelo de concordancia.
De manera que, inicialmente, se presentan las ecuaciones de movimiento que enmarcan el fluido cosmológico, basadas en la Teoría General de la Relatividad, la cual se asume como la teoría de gravedad que gobierna el universo, y en la ecuación de Boltzmann, que describe el comportamiento estadístico de sus constituyentes. Así, considerando como punto de partida que la fuente de gravedad dominante es materia no interactuante (materia oscura fría), describiremos el régimen lineal de las ecuaciones y mostraremos la conexión de estos campos (densidad y velocidad), a través del factor de crecimiento $f$; definido como $f={d\ln{D}}/{d\ln{a}}$, en donde $D(t)$ determina la evolución lineal de las perturbaciones en densidad, $a(t)$ es el factor de escala, y empleando únicamente los modos crecientes en la descripción de formación de estructura, desde un enfoque no relativista, dicho factor dependerá únicamente del parámetro de densidad $\Omega$. Así pues, se discutirá la importancia de este factor en la cosmología moderna, y cómo de manera muy general, a partir de las observaciones y/o datos sintéticos, puede inferirse para brindar información relevante sobre las no linealidades que son fuente vital en la teoría de formación de estructura a gran escala. Finalmente, se presentarán una serie de conclusiones que permitirán evidenciar (desde el modelo teórico), la importancia de la introducción del campo de velocidades peculiares y su conexión al campo de densidad, considerando un fluido cosmológico de materia oscura y bariónica. Ello acompañado de aspectos generales que se identifican en la estructura y manipulación de datos que involucran algunos catálogos de velocidades peculiares a bajo redshift que son empleados por algunos de los grupos de investigación lideres en este campo.
