Description

We present an overview of user-support activities carried out at the Onsala Space Observatory (OSO), highlighting its role in enabling radio astronomy research across multiple facilities. As the host of the Nordic ALMA Regional Centre, OSO provides support throughout the full lifecycle of interferometric projects, including proposal preparation, data reduction, and advanced analysis. This is complemented by the development of open-source software tools designed to enhance the analysis of radio interferometric data, including visibility-domain modelling, stacking techniques, data-quality diagnostics, and simulation of observations.

Beyond ALMA, OSO offers observational support and expertise for a range of facilities, including LOFAR, the Onsala 20 m telescope, and the European VLBI Network (EVN), addressing diverse scientific use cases and observing modes. The observatory also contributes to ongoing developments related to next-generation infrastructures, including activities connected to the SKA Regional Centre.

These combined efforts illustrate the role of OSO as a multi-facility support hub, integrating observational services, software development, and user support to facilitate efficient and robust scientific exploitation of radio interferometric data.
