The Nordic-Baltic Astronomy Days 2026 is the first large-scale gathering of Nordic and Baltic astronomy researchers in nearly 36 years, making it the spiritual successor of the 1990 Uppsala conference.

This conference will take place in Radisson Blu Marina Palace Hotel, in Turku, between May 26th and 29th, 2026. More details about the conference venue are found here.

The main theme of this conference is networking, with focuses on:

  • Scientific presentation given by junior researchers
  • Dedicated junior-senior networking sessions
  • Current and future joint instrumentation projects (e.g., NOT)
  • Nordic-Baltic cooperation within international collaborations (e.g., ESO, ESA, SKA, CTAO)

Registration and abstract submission will be opened later. We are currently in the process of finalizing the registration fee. This will be a highly affordable conference.

We have received several grants to partially reimburse the travel and accommodation costs of our participants, especially juniors (i.e., Master and PhD students). These are awarded as a Travel & Accommodation Aid, which the participants can request when registering.

Our recommended accommodation places are found here. For more details on transportation and how to get to Turku see here.
