Travel Information

Mexico City has three main airports: the most frequently used is AICM (Aeropuerto Internacional de la Ciudad de México) and the closest one, followed by AIFA (Aeropuerto Internacional  Felipe Ángeles), and Toluca International Airport, the furthest away. You can to downtown or the venue from either of them. Each of the airports have authorized taxis to get to downtown Mexico City, which we recommend to use. Only the AICM airport has a metro connection at one the gates connecting the airport.


Where to stay: There are several nice areas in Mexico City and hundreds of hotels. We recommend staying near by Metro Line 3 or Metrobús Line 1. Some good areas to walk round include: La Condesa, Colonia Roma (north, south, and central), Colonia del Valle, Colonia Nápoles, Avenida Reforma, Polanco, Alameda Central, the Zócalo.


Altitude. Mexico-City is, in average, 2,240 meters above sea level. 

Visa. Consult the appropriate local agencies of your city, country or region if you have questions about the need for a visa or here: Immigration

Currency in Mexico. The currency in Mexico is the Mexican Peso. yahoo finance

Potable water. The water in Mexico is it of a good quality, but as is the case in many Latin American countries, its purification may not be suitable for people from Europe or the United States. For this reason, it is recommended to drink bottled tap or mineral water.

Weekend travel options: You can visit some of the 196 museums in Mexico City Museums

The most populars are: Museo de Anstropología, Museo del Templo Mayor, Castillo de Chapultepec (the only castle inhabited by a true emperor in Latin America), Museo Palacio de Bellas Artes, Museo Soumaya, Museo Frida Kahlo, etc. You will be able to visit some archaeological sites such as: Templo Mayor, Tlatelolco or the oldest one, Cuicuilco. You can walk through the old colonial city in the center or visit modern Mexico City in Santa Fe, specialy the Parque México. You can visit park of Chapultepec, one of the world's largest urban parks with 866 hectares, and much more, see here: Chapultepec
