Description
Magnetized equilibrium accretion discs are the standard initial condition for general-relativistic magnetohydrodynamic (GRMHD) simulations of black-hole accretion, including those used to interpret Event Horizon Telescope images of M87 and Sgr A. These configurations are stationary by construction and are therefore commonly assumed to be straightforward to evolve numerically. Using the BHAC code, we evolve Komissarov magnetized tori in Kerr spacetime and examine how faithfully this equilibrium is preserved during the evolution.
