The SEWM 2026 workshop will take place at the University of Helsinki City Centre Campus, located in the heart of the city right by the Senate Square.

Getting to the Main Venue
The Main Building is highly accessible and well-connected by public transport:

Walking: It is a 600-meter walk from the Helsinki Central Railway Station.

Metro: Take the metro to the University of Helsinki stop.

Trams: Lines 2, 4, 5, and 7 all stop right next to the main building at the Senate Square stop.

Accessibility: The main entrance at Fabianinkatu 33 is fully wheelchair accessible (more detailed accessibility information can be found by following the links in the room location section above).

Conference Dinner: Suomenlinna
The conference dinner on Thursday evening will be held at Tenaille von Fersen, an atmospheric banquet hall featuring centuries-old brick vaults, located on the UNESCO World Heritage sea fortress of Suomenlinna. The venue is situated on Suomenlinna's inner Susisaari island, right next to a historic dry dock.
How to reach the dinner venue:
Suomenlinna is accessible only by water. The trip from the mainland takes about 15–20 minutes.

HSL Municipal Ferry: Departs year-round from the Market Square (Kauppatori). From the main HSL passenger dock on Suomenlinna, it is approximately a 900-meter walk to Tenaille von Fersen. Attendees can simply follow the blue signposts along the main route.

Practical Tip: The island must be explored on foot and many paths are paved with traditional cobblestones, making comfortable footwear highly recommended.
