Conference venues

TeVPA will take place in two excellent venues, located in downtown Columbus. They are walking distance from each other, from restaurants, hotels, and from the Short North, the liveliest part of town.

Morning plenary sessions: Davidson Theatre

Plenary sessions will be held in the Davidson Theatre, a 903 seat facility located in the Vern Riffe Center for Government and the Arts. Named after Speaker Jo Ann Davidson, the first female speaker of Ohio's House of Representatives, the theatre is located directly across from the Ohio Statehouse and was founded in 1989.

Coffee and light breakfast will be provided each morning, during a break in the plenary sessions. The theatre is equipped with wireless internet, which will be accessible to all attendees throughout the conference.

Parking near the theatre is available at an extra cost. The nearest parking garages are the Columbus Commons Parking Garage on 3rd Street and Rich Street, or the Statehouse Parking Garage on 3rd Street. More information can be found here.

Afternoon parallel sessions: The Columbus Athenaeum

Parallel sessions will be held at the nearby Columbus Athenaeum, a renovated Masonic Temple built in 1896 in the heart of downtown Columbus. Since its restoration one hundred years later, the Athenaeum has stood as a premier location for conferences, weddings, and theatrical performances.

Parallel sessions will be held in the centrally located Corinthian, Macedonian, Spartan, Athenian Rooms, and the Small Theater. Coffee and light snacks will be provided to all conference attendees in the mid-afternoon in the Oak Room. We have arranged to have a family room available during the parallel sessions. The Athenaeum is equipped with wireless internet throughout, which will be accessible to all attendees.

Parking near the Athenaeum is available at an additional cost. The closest parking facilities are the 4th Street & Elm Garage. More details can be found here.
