Description

Cooling storage ring External-target Experiment (CEE) under design at Heavy Ion Research Facility at Lanzhou-Cooling Storage Ring (HIRFL-CSR) is a multi-purpose spectrometer and will be used for various studies on heavy-ion collisions, where three Multi Wire Drift Chambers (MWDCs) are used as collision products tracking detectors. The readout electronics of CEE-MWDC is designed based on waveform digitization technology with pseudo-Gaussian shaping circuit. This paper proposes an amplitude and time measurements of digital pseudo-Gaussian signal by waveform fitting based on least squares method using the characteristics of the pseudo-gaussian signal. The proposed algorithm can meet the needs of CEE-MWDC readout system and can easily be implemented on FPGA through pipeline for real-time data processing.
