There are three main ways to travel from Bangkok to Phitsanulok: by airplane, train, or bus.

✈️ By Airplane

Flying is the most convenient and time-saving option. Flights depart from Don Mueang International Airport (DMK) and land at Phitsanulok Airport (PHS).

  • Airlines: Nok Air and AirAsia

  • Travel Time: Approximately 55 minutes to 1 hour

  • Popular Flight Times: Available throughout the day, including morning (around 07:10 AM), afternoon (around 02:45 PM), and evening (around 05:10 PM).

  • Starting Fares: Around 1,100 – 2,300 THB (depending on promotions and how early you book).

  • Getting to the Venue: From Phitsanulok Airport to Naresuan University, you can easily take a taxi for about 200 THB.

🚊 By Train

Ideal for those who want a relaxed journey or a cozy sleeper train experience. Trains depart from Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal and arrive at Phitsanulok Railway Station (located in the heart of the city).

Recommended Train Types

  • Special Express (Train No. 7): Departs in the morning at 07:30 AM and arrives in Phitsanulok at 11:48 AM. Taking only 4 hours 18 minutes, this is the fastest train option.

  • Special Express CNR (Train No. 9): Departs at 06:40 PM and arrives at 12:15 AM. This uses newer train models with highly comfortable sleeper berths.

  • Rapid / Express Trains: Other options include Train No. 109 (departs at 02:15 PM) or overnight trains if you prefer to arrive at dawn.

Summary

  • Travel Time: Approximately 4 hours 20 minutes to 6 hours (depending on the train type).

  • Starting Fares: Starts at around 230 THB for a 3rd-class fan seat up to 1,000+ THB for a 1st-class air-conditioned sleeper berth.

  • Getting to the Venue: From the railway station to Naresuan University, you can take a taxi for about 200 THB.

🚌 By Bus

This is a popular choice if you are not in a rush and want to save on travel costs. You can board the buses at the Bangkok Bus Terminal Chatuchak (Mochit 2).

Popular Bus Companies

  • Phitsanulok Yanyont Tour (พิษณุโลกยานยนต์ทัวร์): The most popular choice with frequent departures throughout the day and comfortable VIP buses. Note: This bus route usually passes the university. You can ask the driver to let you off directly in front of Naresuan University.

  • Sukhothai Wintour: Offers good service with many daily rounds.

  • The Transport Co., Ltd. (999): Highly recommended for their comfortable 24-seat VIP late-night buses.

  • Nakhonchaiair: Excellent service, but they have fewer departures for this route and usually drop passengers off at the New Phitsanulok Bus Terminal (Indochina Intersection).

Summary

  • Travel Time: Approximately 5 – 6 hours (can take around 4.5 hours for late-night buses when traffic is light).

  • Starting Fares: Around 320 – 450+ THB (depending on the bus class, such as First Class or VIP).
