Palestrante
Descrição
If the ex-voto is primarily characterized by its materiality within manifestations of faith, it also belongs to a broader ensemble that stages divinities and donors within a votive triangle whose configuration varies according to context. The aim here is to show how the votive offering is inscribed within the space of the sacred site, how its polymorphism adapts to specific religious contexts, and how it takes shape within particular socio-historical circumstances. It must indeed be acknowledged that, beyond categorizations and typologies, the phenomenon of the ex-voto transcends memorial religiosity to become a social, political, and identity-bearing object, depending on its spheres of activation.
