Description

Making high precision measurements of neutrino oscillation parameters requires an unprecedented understanding of neutrino–nucleus scattering. This poster will present MicroBooNE’s first measurements of $\nu_{e}$ CC and $\nu_{\mu}$ CC single charged-pion production on argon. These probe neutrino–induced resonant pion production, one of the dominant interaction modes at the energy range of the upcoming DUNE experiment. The $\nu_{e}$ measurement is the first-ever measurement of this process on argon and the $\nu_{\mu}$ measurement provides a 25-fold increase in the globally available data on this process on argon. Indications of deficiencies in the current modelling are identified in the forward lepton direction and in the pion kinematics. Together, these measurements provide crucial input into improving the neutrino interaction modeling for the DUNE neutrino oscillation measurements.
