Description

The COHERENT collaboration is deploying a tonne-scale sodium-iodide (NaI) detector, dubbed the NaI neutrino experiment at the Tonne scale (NaIvETe), at the Spallation Neutron Source at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. COHERENT has deployed a suite of neutrino detectors to measure low-energy neutrino-nucleus interactions on various target nuclei. With the deployment of NaIvETe, we plan to measure the keV-scale coherent elastic neutrino nucleus scattering (CEvNS) off of $^{23}$Na and $^{127}$I. We also plan to continue the measurement of the MeV-scale charged-current interaction of 𝞶$_{e}$ on $^{127}$I from its predecessor, the NaI neutrino Experiment (NaIvE), a 185-kg NaI[Tl] detector which completed data taking in 2024. NaIvETe is constructed with 315 NaI crystals that weigh 7.7kg for a total mass of 2.4 tonnes. The status of the deployment of NaIvETe and work towards measurements will be presented.
