General information
Registration is open until March 8. A final selection, roughly working on a first-come, first-served basis with priority to PhD students (then Master students, and then postdocs) with the appropriate background, will be made mid-March. You will get notified shortly thereafter and, in case you get selected, you will be invited to pay the registration fee by bank transfer before April 6.
Keep in mind that full-board accommodation from Sunday, May 17 (dinner included) to Friday, May 22 (lunch included) is included in the 100 CHF registration fee. Participants will share twin rooms. If you would like to share your room with a specific participant (provided you both get selected), please mention it in your registration form.
Should you want to extend your stay at your own expenses (to be paid to the hotel at check-out), please be sure to mention it in your registration form too.
Planning your trip
The two main airports in Switzerland are in Geneva (GVA) and Zürich (ZRH). It takes 2h30 to reach Les Diablerets from GVA by train, and 4h from ZRH. Train tickets can be purchased on https://www.sbb.ch/en or the associated app. The Hotel Les Sources is within walking distance from Les Diablerets train station.
- Sunday, May 17: check-in can be done from 2pm onwards. The event officially starts at 6pm with a welcome activity (see below). Dinner will be served at 7:30pm. Lectures start on Monday morning (9am).
- Friday, May 22: check-out should be done before 9am, but you can store your luggages in a dedicated room. The program officially ends with a discussion panel from 11am to 12:30pm, followed by lunch (included).
Welcome activity
At 6pm on the first day (Sunday, May 17), a welcome activity in the form of a one-slide presentation by each participant (max. 2 minutes) will take place. This is meant to kickstart later discussions by briefly and informally explaining your research interests. You may in fact talk about anything that would help the others know more about you. If you get selected, you will be asked to submit your slide shortly before the event.
