Prof. A. K. Raychaudhuri Centenary Session
Amal Kumar Raychaudhuri (1923-2005) was an esteemed Indian physicist renowned for his significant contributions to the fields of general relativity and cosmology. He is best known for his groundbreaking formulation of the "Raychaudhuri equation." This equation remains a fundamental tool in understanding the dynamics of cosmic expansion and the formation of black holes.
We will be organizing one special evening session on December 7 to celebrate the birth centenary of the eminent physicist, Prof. Amal Kumar Raychaudhuri, during the International Conference on General Relativity and Cosmology (ICGC 2023). The primary objective of this event is to commemorate the life and achievements of Prof. Amal Kumar Raychaudhuri, who made significant contributions to the fields of general relativity and cosmology. By organizing this event as part of ICGC 2023, we aim to bring together researchers, scientists, academicians, and admirers of Prof. Raychaudhuri to pay tribute to his profound legacy and discuss the impact of his groundbreaking work on contemporary gravitational physics.

A Memorial Session for Prof. T. Padmanabhan
Prof. Thanu Padmanabhan, affectionately known as Paddy, was a distinguished Indian theoretical physicist renowned for his significant contributions to the fields of general relativity, cosmology, and quantum gravity. He gained widespread recognition for his profound investigations into gravitation as an emergent thermodynamic phenomenon. Besides being an exceptional educator, Prof. Padmanabhan tirelessly worked as a science communicator, traveling extensively to inspire and motivate young students. Tragically, on September 17, 2021, Paddy passed away unexpectedly at the age of sixty-four. As a tribute to his remarkable legacy and research achievements, we are delighted to announce that at ICGC 2023, a special session will be organized to remember Prof. Thanu Padmanabhan and his invaluable contributions to the field of gravitational physics.
