Summary

A new generation of muon g2 experiments is under construction at both Fermilab and JPARC. They are seeking
to measure the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon to a precision of 0.14ppm: a factor of four better than the previous
Brookhaven measurement which has a long-standing discrepancy with respect to the SM prediction of approximately 3.5 standard
deviations. I will review the status of the two experiments, particularly the Fermilab experiment which is due to begin data taking in 2017 and describe how the reduction in the experimental uncertainties with respect to the BNL experiment will be achieved.
