Arriving to Zagreb

Arriving by plane: from Zagreb Airport to the city

Zagreb Airport (Franjo Tuđman Airport, ZAG) sits about 17 kilometres south of the city centre, in Velika Gorica. Public transport options from the airport are shuttle bus or the local ZET city bus.

You can easily find where the bus stations are on the airport map.

Airport shuttle bus (Pleso prijevoz)

  • Runs from the airport to the main bus station (Autobusni kolodvor), costs €9 and takes 35 to 45 minutes.
  • Tickets can be bought online on the official Pleso website.

City bus 290 (ZET), the cheapest option

  • The bus goes to Kvaternikov trg ("Kvatrić") in the east part of the city centre.
  • A single 60-minute ticket costs €0.93 bought in advance through the ZET app or at newspaper kiosks, or €1.33 from the driver (cash only). Stamp the ticket in the validator on the bus.

Taxi, Uber or Bolt

  • Taxi is available via Uber and Bolt, as well as local taxi drivers.
  • There are local taxi companies Wizi, Radio taxi 1717, ekotaxi ... However, be careful with individual local taxi drivers. There are some with rates which are like a scam.
  • The safest option is via apps.

Late arrivals: after roughly midnight, both bus 290 and the shuttle have stopped running, so plan on a taxi.

Arriving by bus

You will arrive at Zagreb Central Bus station in the east part of the city centre. From there you can take a tram to other parts of town. Or a taxi, Uber, or Bolt.
