Description

Globular clusters are established high-energy sources, with their GeV emission generally attributed to unresolved populations of millisecond pulsars (MSPs). However, the physical origin of different components of their broadband spectra remains uncertain. We investigate the emission from 47 Tucanae using a population-scaled, phase-averaged model that combines synchro-curvature radiation from accelerated primary particles with synchrotron radiation from secondary electron-positron pairs in MSP magnetospheres. The model provides a physically motivated description of the observed spectral energy distribution, with the primary synchro-curvature component shaping the GeV spectrum and the pair synchrotron component contributing at lower energies. X-ray measurements and TeV upper limits provide additional consistency constraints. The present calculation focuses on magnetospheric emission from the unresolved MSP population, while cluster-scale particle transport and diffuse synchrotron and inverse-Compton emission will be incorporated in future work.
