Description

We present initial efforts towards the construction of a catalogue of frequency- and timescale-dependent variability properties of blazars observed as flux calibrators with the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA), exploiting multi-epoch observations spanning Bands 3–10. Multi-epoch light curves are constructed for suitably sampled sources, from which complementary variability diagnostics, including the modulation index, fractional variability amplitude, de-biased variability index, full flux-density range, and χ²-based tests of a constant-flux hypothesis, are derived while accounting for measurement and calibration uncertainties. Particular emphasis is placed on ALMA Bands 3, 6, and 7, which correspond to observing bands planned for the future Africa Millimetre Telescope (AMT) in Namibia. The resulting catalogue is intended to provide a homogeneous reference set of millimetre/submillimetre blazar variability measurements and to identify well-characterised sources for future monitoring and variability studies with the AMT. More broadly, this work establishes a statistical baseline for interpreting AMT observations of relativistic jets and contribute to the development of time-domain blazar science with the AMT.
