Description

I will cover the basic ideas behind how to test quantum effects in the gravitational field in the laboratory. I will then review various approaches to quantum gravity and discuss why the semi-classical ones (in which gravity remains classical) cannot be compatible with the strict formulation of various symmetries (including conservation laws and the equivalence principle). I plan to conclude by commenting on my latest paper with Pablo Saldanha and Chiara Marletto on how post-selection could produce repulsive gravity if gravity were indeed a quantum field.
