Highly compact, filter-free multispectral photodetectors have important applications in biological imaging, face recognition, and remote sensing. In this work, III-V semiconductor nanowire arrays were successfully synthesized and demonstrated as high-performance infrared photodetectors for multispectral imaging.

Single-crystalline IIIโV semiconductor nanofilms are an intriguing but still underused device architecture. They use planar ultrathin films (<100 nm) as the active material, combining very high surface-to-volume ratios with minimal optical thickness. The high surface-to-volume ratio is attractive for sensing[1], while the reduced optical thickness enables photodetector designs where...

Ultrasensitive photodetectors empowered by self-powered capability are pivotal aspects of modern technology that underpins numerous applications spanning across aerospace, life sciences, and environmental monitoring. Despite significant advances in photodetectors, strategies integrating the thermo-pyro-phototronic effects to modulate the generation and transport of charge carriers for...

There is a growing interest in engineering control over not only electronic, but also phononic properties for novel types of optoelectronic devices, improved thermal management, as well as energy harvesting. Selection of enhanced phonon modes can be achieved using Bragg style reflectors tuned to the acoustic properties of the materials used. Recently it has been shown that so called adiabatic...

HgCdTe remains the leading material system for high performance infrared detection across the infrared spectral bands. However, its full potential is limited by current substrate technologies, particularly CdZnTe (CZT), which, although lattice matched, is expensive, available only in small sizes and difficult to produce. These constraints restrict device architectures, impede the development...
