Outdoor areas and activities to explore around campus:
- The North Campus Open Space is a newly restored preserve great for hiking, running, and beach access just across the street from the San Joaquin apartments (google maps link).
- UCSB's "Adventure Program" allows you to rent equipment for hiking or for surfing / kayaking at Campus Point (a five minute walk from campus).
If you are looking for a nice walk around campus, the loop around the lagoon is a nice way to spend ~30-40 minutes:
