Description

This work focuses on the reconstruction and identification of Michel electron signals produced in the decay of stopped cosmic muons in a prototype detector of the DUNE experiment. It exploits a combination of data from the Time Projection Chamber (TPC) and the Photon Detection System (PDS), which together provide information on the ionization charge and scintillation light generated by particle interactions in the detector.
The main goal of this work is to test the algorithm developed for this task and evaluate its effectiveness and purity of selections by applying it to detailed simulations of cosmic muons in the ProtoDUNE detector.
