Venue and travel

The training school is held in the Sint-Lucas room of Monasterium Poortackere. The venue is an old, converted monastery in the heart of Gent. You can visit their website for more information.

Monday evening, March 2 at 18:30, a welcome reception is offered in the knight's hall of the Gravensteen, the medieval castle of Gent.

Getting there ...

by public transport:

Monasterium Poortackere can easily be reached from Gent Sint-Pieters train station by trams T1 and T3. Tram stop Gent Oude Houtlei is 400m away from the venue.

by car:

The Gent city centre is a pedestrian zone, and cars are not allowed to drive there. In order to improve air quality, the area within the R40 ring road is a low-emission zone (LEZ). The venue is just outside the pedestrian zone but inside the LEZ.

Please, check whether your car is allowed in the LEZ before coming to Gent.

Driving inside Gent, a historic city with many narrow one-way streets, is a unique experience. Use a navigation map such as Google Maps to plan your route and to steer clear of the pedestrian zone.

Housing ...

As you see on this map, most of the hotels in Gent are to the north-east of the venue because that is where the city centre is. Gent is not a large city, so you can easily get around on foot. It is also a very bike-friendly city. A routeplanner for the Tram can be found here.
