Public transport
The closest subway station (U-Bahn) and bus stop is “Uni Campus Riedberg”, which is a two minute walk from FIAS. If you leave the building on its main entrance, just turn left and you cannot miss it.
At “Uni Campus Riedberg” usually two lines depart, the U8 and U9. The U8 takes you to the city-center of Frankfurt.
To Central Station (Hauptbahnhof):
At the stop Willy-Brandt-Platz change from U8 to underground line U4 or U5 which will take you to the central station in just two minutes.
To Airport:
At the stop “Hauptwache” change from the U8 to the regional train called “S-Bahn”. You just need to walk up one staircase following the signs with a green “S”. On the right track you have to take the lines S8 or S9 towards Wiesbaden.
The public Transport in Frankfurt is managed by RMV whose multilingual website (www.rmv.de) has a very useful route planner to organize your trips in and around Frankfurt. Tickets must be bought from the turquoise ticket machines, available at every U-Bahn station, prior to the trip. When going by bus, you can also purchase a ticket directly from the bus driver.
Riedbergzentrum
If you need to buy something quickly, chances are that you’ll get it at Riedbergzentrum just across Riedbergplatz. It offers for example two supermarkets, a pharmacy, a drug store, post office, bank (with cash machine) and more.
