Description

NuMI Off-axis Electron Neutrino Appearance (NOvA) experiment is an accelerator long-baseline neutrino oscillation experiment at Fermilab. It aims for a precise measurement of the neutrino oscillation parameters. We present the latest NOvA constraints on the magnitudes of the Pontecorvo-Maki-Nakagawa-Sakata (PMNS) matrix elements, and outline the initial steps toward exploring the unitarity of a general lepton mixing matrix (LMM). Unitarity of the LMM ties together two fundamental questions in neutrino physics: the extent of CP-violation in the lepton sector and the consistency of the three-flavour framework with observations. The analysis is based on the 2024 NOvA Bayesian fit results with an exposure of beam $26.61 \times 10^{20}$ neutrinos and $12.50 \times 10^{20}$ antineutrinos.
