Travel Informations

Air Travel

The nearest airport is Biju Patnaik International Airport (BBI), Bhubaneswar, about 25 km from the conference venues. It has direct domestic connections to major Indian hubs such as Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Chennai, which in turn are well connected to international destinations. International participants are advised to fly into one of these gateway cities and take a connecting flight to Bhubaneswar.

At the airport, app-based taxis (Ola, Uber) and prepaid taxi services are readily available. Typical fares to IIT Bhubaneswar or NISER range from ₹800–₹1,000, depending on demand.

Train Travel

Two railway stations serve the venues:

  • Khurda Road Junction (KUR) – The nearest station (~7 km) from IIT Bhubaneswar, strongly recommended for participants. Many long-distance trains halt here. Travel to IIT/NISER takes 15–20 minutes by taxi or autorickshaw, costing ₹200–₹400 depending on the mode.

  • Bhubaneswar Railway Station (BBS) – Located in the city centre (~25 km from the venues). It is a major hub with extensive train connectivity across India. Taxis/autorickshaws from here cost around ₹800–₹1,000.

These two stations—Khurda Road Junction and Bhubaneswar—are themselves well connected by frequent trains. The journey between them typically takes around 30 minutes, offering participants flexibility in choosing their arrival station.
