Best Scientific Image Competition

We invite all ECRs to submit an image for the ECR Symposium's Scientific Image Competition. Entries can be data visualisations, micrographs, photographs, illustrations, or any other visual that reflects your scientific work or perspective.

On the day of the symposium, all attendees will get to vote for their favourite image. The winner and runner-up will walk away with a cash prize, so send us your best shot!

What to submit

  • One image only per entrant.
  • A very brief title, caption, or description (max 50 words) explaining what the image shows and why it matters.

Technical requirements

  • Format PNG, JPG, TIFF, or PDF
  • We will print your image at either A4 or A3 (i.e., make sure that it doesn't look blurry when printed in A3 format)
  • If you know your way around colour profiles, you're welcome to submit a CMYK-profiled PDF or TIFF for the best print quality. Otherwise, RGB is perfectly fine, but please be aware that printed colours may appear slightly duller than they do on screen.

The image must be your own original work and free of third-party copyright. Images cannot contain personal identifiable information. Please avoid embedded text, watermarks, or logos on the image itself (captions go in the description).

You can submit an image by either logging in and using the link below to edit yout registration, or by following the link in one of the emails we have sent you!
