Workshop Setup
Please complete the following setup homework before end of day Monday (2025-08-11) to ensure a smooth start to the workshop. If you have any questions please email the organizers (email located on the workshop homepage). To complete all steps should take less than 45 minutes. (You can complete things faster than that, but you will need to read and execute commands.)
- Read the participant requirements section of the Indico event landing page and verify that you have these materials to bring with you.
- If you are using Windows, it is strongly recommended that you use the Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL 2) and Windows Terminal.
- Take the pre-workshop survey.
- Create a personal GitHub account and install Pixi following the directions on the lesson Setup episode.
- Optionally: Also install Docker.
- Ensure that you have an OSPool account. Request one if you do not.
- Log in to OSPool by sshing from your laptop to the uw.osg-htc.org Access Point to verify that everything is working.
- Get setup with NVIDIA Brev
- Optional: (We'll cover this later) Step through the OSPool documentation and user examples on submitting computing jobs with HTCondor.
If you have questions please contact the organizer. The instruction team will be at the meeting room starting at 08:30 am on Tuesday (2025-08-12) morning to help troubleshoot any setup questions that haven't been resolved over email.
