OSPool

Workshop setup for OSPool

  1. If you do not already have an OSPool account, register for a temporary OSPool account using https://osg-htc.org/repro-ml-workshop-fall25-ospool.html
  2. You will be guided to the OSPool CILogon page, where you can log in using your home institution's credentials. If your institution isn't listed, you can sign in with ORCID, GitHub, Google, or Microsoft accounts instead. During registration, you will need to verify your email address using an 8-digit code sent to your inbox.

  3. Once approved, you will receive a welcome email containing your OSPool username, initial login instructions, and guidance on uploading SSH keys. Your temporary accounts will grant access through the University of Wisconsin-Madison OSPool ap40 Access Point, available at <username>@ap40.uw.osg-htc.org.

  4. The temporary account will retain job submission access until August 31st, 2025. If you would like to extend your temporary OSPool account into a full OSPool account an OSG Research Computing Facilitator will be present on Thursday afternoon to answer questions and help workshop participants.

OSPool use requirements beyond the workshop

You can apply for general access to OSPool resources if you are a:

  • Researcher affiliated with a project at a US-based academic, government, or non-profit institution (via an OSG-Operated Access Point).
  • Researcher affiliated with such an institution or project that operates a local own access point.

Brev

For the portion of the workshop where commercial cloud GPU resources will be used we'll be working on an NVIDIA Brev instance. See the Brev section of the setup guide to get going and prepare a Brev instance.
