Dinner

There are many excellent restaurants in Philadelphia, too many to provide an exhaustive list here. There are many resources to get recommendations. Reservations, if allowed, are strongly recommended.

One unusual feature of Philadelphia restaurants is that many do not have licenses to serve alcohol and are Bring Your Own Bottle (BYOB). There typically is no corkage fee at these BYOBs.

You may purchase beer at some convenience stores, delicatessens (e.g. Old Nelson's listed above), and some supermarkets

You may purchase wine (and spirits) at state-owned "Fine Wine & Good Spirits" stores, see https://www.finewineandgoodspirits.com/home. Stores that may be convenient for our participants are located at the following addresses:

  • One Drexel Plaza, 3151 Market St (good for restaurants near venue)
  • 2040 Market St (good for restaurants near Rittenhouse Square)
  • 1515 Locust St (good for restaurants near South Broad Street)
  • 1112 Chestnut St (good for restaurants near 13 Street)

Some supermarkets offer wine as well.
