Description
A collaboration is underway to investigate shielded CSR effects on a beam in a chicane-like compression environment. A beamline consisting of two identical doglegs with reversing quadrupoles in between—making two identical doglegs work as a c-type chicane—was installed at the Argonne Wakefield Accelerator. Individual vacuum chambers for dipole magnets are equipped with a shielding plate, allowing for gap adjustment. Longitudinal phase space before and after the chicane-like beamline can be measured to observe the impact of CSR along the beamline. We present preliminary analysis results of the most recent experiment with various shielding gaps and beam conditions.
