By Bus:
Bolpur is nicely connected by Road. Many State Gov. and Public bus services are available from Durgapur (both city center and durgapur railway station). Those who get down at durgapur railway station can travel to bolpur by bus as well.
In case you don't get a direct bus to Bolpur, you can take any bus going towards North Bengal (e.g. raiganj, malda, omarpur, baharampur,or Suri etc.) and get down at Ilambazar, which is only 17 km from Santiniketan. From there either you can hire a cab or take any local/superfast bus to bolpur/santiniketan.
