Title: Exceptional field theories and what we can do with them
Exceptional field theories are the manifestly duality covariant formulations of supergravity that have proven powerful in addressing various problems in supergravity theories. I review the framework and the construction of these theories. Among their applications I discuss consistent truncations of (super)gravity, higher dimensional origins of dyonic gauged supergravities, and generalised type II supergravity.
