Touristy stuff:
If you wish to see more of Frankfurt in your free time you can find some information on events and local sights here.
Public transportation:
More information on public transport and tickets in Frankfurt can be found here. As a general rule all tickets purchased at one of the RMV ticketing machines are valid for any public transportation within Frankfurt and partly beyons, including S-Bahn trains, U-Bahn subway, Tram-trains and all busses.
Payment:
All shops and restaurant will accept cash (Euro) and most of them will accept card payments by either debit (Often only so-called Girocard payments are accepted which are a German type debit card) or major Credit Cards. This is not always true for smaller shops or restaurants so better ask in advance whether they accept your card. Many shops have now also started to accept other forms of digital payments, like Google pay or apple pay or even Alipay, but it is better to check beforehand if they accept it.
General safety:
In general one can say that Frankfurt is a save place with the usual exceptions. Please beware of pickpockets escpecially in the downtown areas and places with many visitors as well as inside public transportation. Don't show off with large amounts of cash or valuables as it may attracts thieves.
Some areas of the City, like the main train stations can become dangerous places at night if you are not careful. So try to avoid going around these places at night alone.
Don't buy things from people approaching you on the street (except maybe for the occasional street food).
The consumption of canabis products is now legal in many places in Germany, however be advised to strictly follow non-smoking or non-consumption rules when stated as you may incur fines.
