Description

Just south of Oxford, on the Harwell Campus, is the ISIS Neutron and Muon Source. The ISIS Muon facility is one of only five facilities in the world that produces muons to enable our understanding of systems. Our science program is varied, ranging from magnetism to superconductivity to battery materials, and including cultural heritage and a proton radius experiment.

In this seminar, I will introduce the ISIS Muon facility and the techniques that we use. I will provide an overview of our beamlines, instruments and range of potential sample environments. I will also describe our ongoing development projects and the capabilities that will be coming online soon. Finally, I will share some of our recent science highlights that show the breadth of our work and of the current user community, and set out our future plans to develop greater synergy with other communities.
