Description
One of the ATLAS experiment's upgrade to take place in 2018
consists in the construction of new muon chambers. A third of these
gaseous detectors (so-called "thin gap chambers") will be built
and tested in Canada. The performance of the first prototype chamber
built in Canada was measured in a beam test at Fermilab in May 2014.
A description of the test setup at Fermilab as well as preliminary
results will be presented.
