Description

We present the explicit construction of a minimal, stable example of an asymptotic Grand Unified Theory (aGUT). We start by formulating the theory in the high energy regime and performing a series of checks to understand its low energy limit. The model, based on an SU(6) gauge group, and formulated in five spacetime dimensions, is compactified on an $S^{1}/(\mathbb{Z}_{2}\times\mathbb{Z}_{2}')$ orbifold. We show that gauge couplings exhibit the existence of an ultraviolet fixed point, while Yukawa couplings need to be localised on one of the orbifold boundaries to generate the correct fermion masses. Moreover, the scalar sector reduces to a restricted two Higgs doublet model, with additional scalar fields.
