Code of Conduct

Purpose and Principles

We aim to make this conference at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU) a welcoming, inclusive, and respectful environment for all participants. The organizers are committed to fostering open scientific exchange in which everyone—regardless of background, identity, or academic seniority—can participate safely and comfortably. We expect all attendees to uphold professional standards of conduct throughout the event, including during talks, poster sessions, breaks, and social activities.

Expected Behaviour

Participants are expected to:

  • Treat all individuals with courtesy, respect, and consideration.
  • Promote constructive and open scientific discussion.
  • Focus criticism on ideas rather than individuals.
  • Be aware of how their words and actions may affect others.
  • Respect boundaries in conversation, collaboration, and physical interaction.
  • Follow all instructions from conference organizers and adhere to SDU policies and local regulations.

Unacceptable Behaviour

The following are not tolerated at this conference:

  • Harassment of any kind, including offensive comments, intimidation, stalking, or unwanted following.
  • Disruptive behaviour during talks, meetings, or social events.
  • Unwelcome physical contact or sexual attention.
  • Intentional exclusion, demeaning remarks, or behaviour that creates a hostile or unsafe atmosphere.
  • Discrimination based on personal characteristics or identity.
  • Improper use of conference communication channels or online platforms to target or harm participants.
  • These expectations apply to all in‑person and digital interactions related to the conference.

Consequences of Misconduct

If a participant violates this Code of Conduct, the organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, including:

  • Issuing a verbal or written warning
  • Removing the individual from sessions or activities
  • Expelling the individual from the conference without refund
  • Escalating concerns to SDU authorities or the participant’s home institution

Our priority is safeguarding the well‑being and participation of all attendees.
