Welcome Reception -Monday, 22/06, ~18h30

On Monday, June 22nd, there will be a welcome reception at the terrace between the Physics and Chemistry Departments, facing the botanical garden. 

Conference dinner - Thursday, 25/06, ~20h

Suggestions for the free afternoon of Wednesday, 24/06:

1. Visit to the University of Coimbra 

For those interested in visiting the University of Coimbra's UNESCO World Heritage sites, vouchers for a guided tour may be bought during the registration process. This voucher must be exchanged by a ticket, because the visit to the Baroque (Joanina) Library requires a pre-reservation time slot. The ticket also includes a visit to the Royal Palace, the Great Hall of Acts, and the Royal St. Michael's Chapel.

2. Visit to the Roman ruins of Conímbriga

Conímbriga is one of the largest Roman settlements excavated in Portugal, dating back to the 9th century BC.
How to get there: From the Physics Department, you can walk to Portagem (15 min) and then take line 208 of SMTUC bus to Condeixa-a-Velha, and then walk 20 minutes, making a total of around 1 hour. Alternatively, you can take an Uber from 15-20 euros that takes around 30 minutes.

3. Visit to Figueira da Foz - closest beach to Coimbra

Situated at one hour by train from Coimbra, it is the closest ocean beach. There
are several trains per day and it is easy to go and return in the same day.
How to get there: Take the CP train to Figueira da Foz at Coimbra-B station. It takes around 1 hour and costs 3.10 euros.
