The two venues are a 2 minute walk from one another, so all transportation advice applies to both venues.
Getting there
Old Trafford football stadium is well serviced with public transport, including buses and trams (map). It is recommended that if you're in the city centre to take a tram, any of the following will get you to within 15 minutes walking distance of the stadium:
- Red line (labelled 'The Trafford Centre'), get off at Wharfside (then 7 minute walk),
- Green or Purple line (labelled 'Altrincham'), get off at Old Trafford (then 15 minute walk),
- Blue line (labelled 'Manchester Airport'), get off at Trafford bar (then 20 minute walk),
- Pink line (labelled 'East Didsbury'), get off at Trafford bar (see above).
For trams, tickets are either purchased at the machines at each station, or you can use the 'tap-in/tap-out' system, where you tap your contactless-card at terminals at the beginning and end of your journey.
Buses within the city are all £2 for 1 hour of travel, and can be paid with by cash or contactless.
Old Trafford and Old Trafford.
Please be aware that there are two Old Traffords, the Old Trafford Cricket Ground, which is directly next to the tram stop, and the Old Trafford Football Stadium. The meeting is held at the football stadium. So please check that you are heading to the right location.
