After a successful workshop in Montreal in November 2025 (link), the Community for neutrinoless double beta decay with xenon agreed to meet again to develop a roadmap for the best strategy(ies) to ensure the realization of a competitive xenon-based experiment in a timely manner.

The outcome of the previous meeting was an agreed Community Statement (link). You can add your name to the document by filling this signature request form. This workshop will focus on how to make concrete plans, given the proposed experiments and the current funding landscape.

TOPICS:

  • Review of the recent strategic plans around the world and how xenon experiments are portrayed and placed.
  • Discussion on the vision of undergrounds and national labs in the current political and financial context.
  • Review of the plans of the different xenon experiments, also in the current context and how they see their place in the community.
  • Invited Contributions (please request abstracts)
  • Active discussion/game session to address upcoming challenges for the community.
  • How to strengthen the industrial connections and how to best lobby for large-scale astroparticle experiments.

The workshop will be held in the iconic stadium of Old Trafford, home of Manchester United, one of the two football teams in Manchester. This will provide you with a unique opportunity to get immersed in the ambiance of the city.

If you are interested to visit the Underground Facilities of the Boulby mine,  visits will be organized on the Monday 14 September and Friday 18 September, with departures from Manchester. The visits requests will open with the registration and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
