Closest Airport

Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) is the primary and closest airport to Georgia Tech, located about 12 miles from campus.

From the Airport to Georgia Tech

ATL is the busiest airport in the world and it can take a while to get from your terminal to the baggage claim, which requires taking the Plane Train. Airport staff can help you navigate your way. There are a few different ways to get to Georgia Tech Campus.

  1. Public Transportation: The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) offers rail service from the ATL airport to North Avenue Station, which is right next to the accommodation provided.  When you are done with baggage claim, follow the signs to get to the MARTA station at the airport. At the station, you will have to purchase a Breeze Card (or install the app). This is a re-loadable card that you can continue to use to ride the MARTA train and bus system during your time in Atlanta. Take the MARTA train heading north – either the Red Line or the Gold Line. The two closest stops to Georgia Tech are the  North Avenue and Midtown, and North Avenue is right next to the provided accommodation. You can take the GT Stinger bus from to campus on the Red Route from North Avenue or Gold Route from Midtown. https://bus.gatech.edu/routes/2/stops
  2. Ride share: Uber and Lyft are authorized to pick-up from Atlanta Airport. You can order them from your app. Follow the signs to the pickup spot.
  3. Taxi: There is a taxi stand outside of the baggage claim at the airport. Ensure that it’s a legitimate taxi company and agree upon how the price will be determined (flat rate or meter) before putting your luggage inside. If you need help, ask an airport employee.
