Traveling to Pohang from Abroad
There are two convenient routes for international participants traveling to Pohang:
Via Seoul (Gimpo Airport)
- Arrive at Gimpo International Airport.
- Travel to a KTX station (typically Seoul Station).
- Take the KTX high-speed train to Pohang Station.
- From Pohang Station, take a taxi or public bus to your hotel in downtown Pohang.
Via Busan (Gimhae Airport)
- Arrive at Gimhae International Airport.
- Take an intercity bus directly to downtown Pohang (Pohang Intercity Bus Terminal).
- Proceed to your hotel by taxi or local transportation if necessary.
Getting to APCTP and POSTECH
We recommend staying near the Pohang Intercity Bus Terminal or Yeongildae Beach area. From downtown Pohang, both Asia Pacific Center for Theoretical Physics and Pohang University of Science and Technology can be reached conveniently by taxi or public bus. Taxi rides typically take about 10–20 minutes, depending on traffic and the location of your hotel.
