Description
A future quantum internet will enable the long-distance distribution of entanglement, supporting provably secure communication, networked quantum computing, and enhanced sensing. Realising such a network is fundamentally challenging because quantum information cannot be copied or amplified in the same way as classical signals. In this talk, I will present my work on overcoming these limitations for continuous variable quantum information through the design of quantum optical amplifiers, the development of quantum repeater protocols, and the optimisation of secure communication schemes. Together, these advances provide a pathway toward scalable and physically implementable quantum networks.
