Description

This study utilizes the simulation software OptiSystem to construct a high-speed random sequence transmission system. At the transmitter, a 1554 nm laser is split by a polarization beam splitter (PBS) and driven by two channels of binary OOK signals via Mach-Zehnder modulators (MZMs), configured with a 2 ns bit delay and a 3 dB optical attenuation to set a 2:1 amplitude weight between the high- and low-bit channels. After transmission through a polarization beam combiner (PBC), a single photodetector (PD) is utilized at the receiver for square-law detection and linear summation in the electrical domain to test the reconstruction characteristics of the four-level PAM4 electrical signal.
